About CommsKit™

CommsKit exists to solve one persistent problem:

Internal communication in complex organisations is still treated as reactive, fragmented, and under-resourced – despite its impact on safety, culture, performance, and brand.

We built CommsKit to bring structure where there is confusion, and certainty where there is inconsistency.

Built on experience, not theory

CommsKit is built on more than 18 years of specialist experience.

This systematised approach was developed by Halo Media, founded in January 2008, through hands-on work inside large, operational organisations with complex workforces.

Across sectors including mining, energy, logistics, manufacturing, and public services, the same issue surfaced repeatedly: organisations weren’t short of ideas – they lacked repeatability, consistency, and internal capacity.

CommsKit™ is the result.

From creative agency to systems engineers

Halo Media began as a traditional creative agency model – bespoke briefs, individual campaigns, manual processes.

Over time, client needs shifted from one-off delivery to something more dependable and scalable.

CommsKit™ represents that evolution.

It is a done-for-you internal communications service designed to:

  • Remove constant briefing and re-briefing
  • Deliver predictable, brand-aligned communication month after month
  • Work across digital, physical, and frontline channels
  • Support mixed-literacy, multilingual, and distributed teams
  • Design and deploy focused digital and AI tools to remove friction and improve access to information – without over-engineering or unnecessary complexity (such as CONNECT and LOOP)

This is not software to manage or content to assemble internally. CommsKit is a managed service delivered by specialists who understand how communication works in real operational environments.

Identifying as CommsKit

Halo Media has evolved into CommsKit.

CommsKit is our primary brand, product, and operating identity. Halo Media remains as the holding company in our South African office, but the business trades, presents, and operates as CommsKit.

This change reflects a shift from agency-led delivery to a clearly defined service with structured outcomes.

Leadership

CommsKit is built on decades of experience across brand strategy, creative delivery, and internal communications within complex organisations.

Founded by Hayes and Louise Cunningham, the business grew out of an advertising agency background where clarity, precision, and audience understanding are essential. Through years of working with large operational teams, a clear pattern emerged: organisations knew what they stood for, but struggled to embed it internally.

The challenge was rarely about vision. It was all about implementation.

That insight shaped CommsKit into a practical internal communications service, designed to replace DIY content, fragmented messaging, and overly complex models that don’t stick.

CommsKit is not founder-dependent. It is led by a stable, senior team with long tenure (averaging 8+ years) and deep specialist expertise across production, client services, and operations. All have worked with high-risk industries, bringing continuity, governance, and a long-term understanding of how brands are sustained – not just launched.

The result is a leadership team that combines creative rigour with real operational insight, ensuring brand intent translates into consistent internal action.
